What is E-Learning?
This can also be known as External Studies, Correspondence, Online Learning or Distance education.
E-Learning enables the student to complete studies externally and achieve a Government Accredited Qualification.
Training ‘on the job’ allows students to complete their qualification while gaining real work experience. When combined with ‘on the job’ assessment tools, you can fast-track your learning by removing the time it takes for lengthy paper based and face-to–face assessments.

How does it work?
· First you enrol in the course of your choice
· Enrolments can be taken at any time during the year
· With this flexible training you can continue your work and study from home to achieve a qualification.
· You will be given a student log account number, this will give you access to your course material, assignments and videos
· You can complete your given assignments online and on completion, email
them to the college for marking and you will be given feedback
· These courses can be done from any location with only a standard web browser
· Many students find this to be a faster and more convenient way to study
· On-line classes are conducted at various times during the course through webcam
· You have access to on-line training videos covering theory units
· You have access to your own personal tutor at all times · You can complete the theory and practical assessments on-line and off-line,
this will depend on the unit you are completing
· You have the option to print your course material if you feel more comfortable studying from paper.

Maybe having an accreditation isn’t necessary for you or you don’t have a computer but would still like to complete a course.....
Avalon Beauty College offers non-accredited External Studies courses in Beauty Therapy, Manicure & Pedicure, Massage, Facials, Waxing, Tinting, Acrylic and Gel Nails.
Your course materials and DVD’s are sent to you, along with your assignments which are completed and sent back to the college. The course contains a theory and a practical assessment. The practical assessment involves you videoing your work and sending to the college for assessment. The theory assessment is completed in the presence of a Police Person, Nurse, Librarian, JP, Marriage Celebrant etc.
